/ MY STORY

In Ireland, in a small village surrounded by green hills and endless pastures, amidst the rain and the scent of grass, a wonderful idea was born — Love-bee, a small ethical art-craft company.

I wanted to create something meaningful, something kind to both people and nature. So I began by making beeswax wraps, and later also bags, using pure beeswax and organic coconut oil. The wraps and bags are made from 100% cotton.

Each piece of cotton I lovingly brushed with my own hand-mixed blend and then ironed the wax into the fabric, allowing it to bond beautifully with the material.

Soon, what started as a small home-based project grew into a creation with soul. People began writing to me, saying that Love-bee helped them rediscover the joy of simplicity and a return to nature. That’s when I realized that home is not a place — it’s a feeling of purpose.

I wish for everyone to let the scent of pure beeswax fill their kitchen, reminding them of summer, sunshine, and the gentle buzz of bees.

Why use beeswax wraps and bags?

In recent years, we’ve all seen what can no longer be ignored — our planet is heading toward disaster.

We’ve exploited the Earth almost to the point of collapse. Our poor planet is drowning in plastic; our oceans can no longer sustain the coral reefs that are vital for all marine life. Rainforests are disappearing, and the effects of climate change have become a serious threat to life itself.

But this is not a message of despair — it’s a message of hope.

Hope that together, we can make a change and return to the basics of how we live and create in our everyday lives.

Why use pure beeswax wraps and bags in our homes?

For us, it’s a step in the right direction — protecting our families and caring for our planet.

Beeswax wraps and bags are eco-friendly, sustainable, natural, reusable, compostable, and handmade.

They are an excellent alternative to plastic wrap, aluminum foil, and plastic bags.

Unlike plastic — which contains chemicals such as BPA, linked to numerous health issues and best avoided, especially for children — handmade beeswax wraps and bags don’t contribute to climate change, even at the end of their life. When they’re finally worn out, they can simply be composted. Of course, with proper care, they last a very long time.

They’re easy to use, can be wiped clean, and reused again and again. Plus, with their beautiful designs, they bring a touch of joy to your everyday routine!

A single plastic bag takes around 500 years to decompose in a landfill — and even then, it never truly disappears. It breaks down into microplastics that contain toxins and pollute our environment.

For a family with four schoolchildren, packing lunches or snacks in plastic bags every day would mean using around 800 plastic bags a year — bags that would remain on this Earth for 30 generations.

Made in Ireland.

Experiment: Freshness Test (Lemon & Wraps)

On 17 November 2019, we placed half a lemon in plastic cling film and half a lemon in a beeswax wrap, then stored both in the fridge.

When we checked them on 3 December 2019, the difference was clear — the lemon in cling film was covered in mold, while the one in the beeswax wrap still looked fresh and perfectly good.
